“ After working up an appetite playing pickleball at nearby Center Court, we decided to try Sal's. It was prime time - Saturday night around 7:30pm, so we were not surprised to learn that it would be a 45 minute wait to be seated... So... we decided instead to order take-out. We ordered two simple cheese slices and the last slice of the Caesar Salad with Chicken Pizza, and an appetizer order of eggplant rollatini. We scored a table to sit at right outside and scarfed our food down... it was delicious! My son and husband ended up going back for more... my son had another slice of cheese pizza and my husband enjoyed a slice of the ziti pizza. We will absolutely be back for a dine-in experience to try some additional menu items and likely add that fifth star when we do. If you find yourself in the area, you can't go wrong with dining in or taking out from this fabulous local business! ”
“ Don't ask me what I'm thinking about because my answer will be Sal's Gilbert Pizza's Tiramisu Martini for a WHILE. We got here around 7:30 on a Tuesday night and there was a decent wait, so we opted for seats at the bar. While it was busy, it wasn't loud so we could still enjoy company. They even had tvs so we watched parts of the basketball game that was on. Every night they do a different special (besides Monday when they're closed) which we didn't end up ordering, but was nice to see. Our bartender was super friendly and was kindly answering all of my questions about the menu. I started with the tiramisu martini and let me tell you, I will not stop telling my friends about this drink. It was sweet but light and was an amazing treat before having dinner. My boyfriend kept stealing it from me to drink because he loved it too. We ordered half baked ziti and half spaghetti and meatballs pizza which was delicious. I think the textures were so fun and the pastas made the pizza more rich and filling. I loved the crispy thin crust - it reminded me of New York pizza. I think being able to do half and half is so nice and lets everyone get to try something they want. We ended up getting a large and took 4 pieces home. If you haven't tried this pizza spot yet - add it to the top of your list. You will LOVE it! ”
“ Earlier this month, my sister from NY was telling ME about a pizza place here that she heard great things about. A thing about New Yorkers - they love to tell you about real NY food. I know this because I, too, am a former NYer (haha!) But she had a friend of a friend who worked here, and it was like seeing two old friends meet again. The camaraderie of NYers who are OUT of NY is always so fun to see. So aside from the fabulous service, we received.. the pizza was INCREDIBLE and literally a taste of home. We ordered a Grandma pizza, White pizza, and Margherita pizza for all my visiting family to share and eat. I definitely will be back now that I know about it and the quality is outstanding. I can't believe I lived here for so long not realizing. ”
“ Sal's Pizza is an absolute gem for anyone who loves authentic Italian cuisine served in a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. The menu is extensive, offering a variety of pizza and pasta options that cater to all tastes. We started with the calamari, which was perfectly crispy and tender, paired with a flavorful dipping sauce. The fresh salad was a large portion. The pizza was great and everyone really enjoyed. We met several employees and they all are very nice and friendly. Sal's Pizza is a place you'll want to return to again and again. Highly recommend! ”
“ Super good! My server was amazing! I ordered a a calzone and it was massive and had a reasonable price! The ambiance was amazing here and I felt super welcome and comfortable. Love the lighting in here! ”
“ I am biased. I will admit, I worked at Sal's for about a year when I was a senior in high school. I was a favorite (or so I've been told) and I do still love the place for that. This being said, the last time I worked here was around 3.5 years ago. The staff are still the kindest people around and are able to serve you well beyond how many restaurants in the area can manage. I hope I don't exagerrate, but I heartily recommend the place if only for the service. The service is fantastic and the food is probably some of the best in the area. I have been sorely missing good pizza as I've been living in L.A. these last few years, and every time I come back, it's a breathe of fresh(ly baked) air. They use good ingredients and it comes out in the quality of the craft. It's always clean, often busy (well deserved), but not crowded in the dining areas. If you stop anywhere while in the area, this definitely tops my list for best of the Italian genre. I didn't grab photos the last time I was here, but there are many on this yelp, so check them out. They're worth a look, I think. What you see is what you get. ”
“ Had dinner at Sal's today. Pizza was great east coast style. Service was excellent. The two waitresses that served me, Maddie & Holly were courteous, and friendly. Quick with the refills. Would definitely recommend the restaurant. ”
“ my first visit here was for a birthday dinner for 8. We were seated at immediately and were immediately taken care of with waters and orders of apps and salads to start. Our server was amazing with all of us despite understanding it can get little chaotic with a bigger group. She was so cool and got our orders right and out in a very timely manner. For apps we got an antipasto, rice ball, and caesar salad and pizzas we got: ziti pie, a grandma pie, a regular cheese pie, and a sausage topped pie. It was all good but my favorite was the grandma--man that fresh basil hit the spot on top of the well-seasoned sauce. The other standout was the cheese pie (I know basic) but it reminded so much of a real NY slice! I've already been back since the birthday dinner and 1. The pizza was delicious again AND 2. it reminded me that I had to give this spot a shout out! ”
“ Very good pizza. Ingredients seen to be fresh. Forgot to ask if they grate their own Parmesan. I did have an issue with clean dishes. Both my fork and my cup had debris that was not removed by their dishwasher. They may want to look at that. But it's really good pizza. ”
“ Finally tried Sal's for a friend's bday celebration and we were impressed. It's so hard to find pizza that reminds me of home, a NY slice is hard to come by. Staff were super friendly and gave some recommendations. We started off with a red and white sangria. Both super fruity, the white had more of a coconut tropical taste. I was excited to have an Arancini ball and it did not disappoint. We tried the Sicilian style, which had ricotta and mozzarella. Delicious! They added their meat sauce on top as well, a must get! We opted for the ziti pizza, which was creamy and loaded with pasta. So good! And to top it off we shared multiple desserts and they were all great. My favorite were the cannolis and the lemon cake. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming. Looking forward to coming back. This will definitely be our go to, it's worth the drive. ”
